Udaipur: Wards to Become Models for Improving Cleanliness Ranking
Model wards will be created in the city to improve the ranking. Sweepers in clean wards will be given incentive amounts for their good work. In addition to awareness in these wards, 20 garbage points on main city roads will be removed. Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash has directed health inspectors and all ward sweepers to prepare an action plan for the Swachhata Survey. The commissioner has instructed sanitation workers to focus on the parameters Phenilup awards points for to improve the ranking.
20 Garbage Points to Be Removed from the City
“There are 20 garbage points on the main roads and all of them will be removed by March 31. We will seek help from the Phenilup organization which is collaborating with the Municipal Corporation for this task, ” he said. An appeal will also be made to the people throwing waste at these garbage points to co-operate with this process, he said. Health Officer Satyanarayan Sharma has instructed health inspectors and sweepers to take special care and eliminate these garbage points as soon as possible.
Details of the Action Plan Provided
Pradeep Chaubisa, in-charge of the Trust of People Phenilup programme, briefed health inspectors and sweepers, through a PowerPoint presentation, on the process of developing model wards, role of health inspectors and sweepers, removal of garbage stand etc. Chandra Prakash Kumbhat of the organisation briefed on solid waste management, Swachhata Survey 2024 and social security scheme. Gajraj Jadeja presented the PPE kits and emphasised on the personal safety of sanitation workers.
Honoring Sweepers
Health Officer Satyanarayan Sharma said at the workshop that sweepers from wards 8, 15, 22, 24, 32, 38, 47, 60, 61 and 67 Pushpa, Rashid, Narayan, Manju, Kavita, Mahendra, Bhupendra, Jitu, Rajendra and Govardhan were given shawls, mementoes and certificates for their good work.
