3 KM Elevated Road in Jaipur to Cost 200 Crore, Ensuring Non-Stop Traffic

Elevated Road in Jaipur: New elevated road to ease traffic in Jaipur JAIPUR: A new elevated road will ease traffic woes in the Pink City. This ambitious project by the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will connect Jhalana Bypass to Jagatpura and Mahal Road.

The elevated road, which will be about 3 kms long, will start from the Sansathan Path intersection (RIC intersection) and end at Jagatpura ROB. Once operational, it will take the stress out of the lives of thousands of commuters who have to face traffic jams at three main points—Sansathan Path intersection, Apex Circle and Balaji intersection. It means fewer traffic lights, fewer wait times and smoother rides for thousands of daily commuters.

Increasing Traffic Pressure:

The main purpose of this project is to ease the traffic congestion in Jagatpura. The area has witnessed a rapid growth in population and vehicular density in recent years. During peak hours, Mahal Road often turns into a congestion point, with long queues of vehicles leading to frustration and delays. Recognizing this, the JDA has planned the elevated road in a meticulous manner, addressing the existing challenges and preparing for future traffic demands. By allowing vehicles to move directly from the main road to Jawahar Circle and beyond, the project aims to significantly reduce congestion and travel time.

The elevated road will also allow vehicles to bypass several important traffic points. After crossing the Jagatpura ROB, vehicles will be able to go straight to Mahal Road without having to go through any traffic signals. This not only saves time but also reduces fuel consumption and emissions, making our city greener. The project is estimated to cost around 200 crore rupees and will soon get an official budget announcement.

The Relocation Longest Elevated Road in Jaipur:

This isn’t the first time the JDA has looked at building elevated roads to ease traffic in Jaipur. Last year, it announced plans for the city’s longest elevated road to stretch from Ambedkar Circle to Jawahar Circle. But it faced opposition for ruining the aesthetics of JLN Marg, a prominent and picturesque route. So it was moved to Tonk Road, and a feasibility report costing around 86 lakh rupees. This project, though a big one, wasn’t followed up swiftly by the JDA on other initiatives announced in the budget. The complexities of urban infrastructure development are difficult to navigate.

The new elevated road project is a testament to JDA’s commitment to tackling Jaipur’s evolving transportation challenges. Through careful planning and execution, the authority hopes to create a solution that not only mitigates existing traffic problems but also scales for future growth. For Jaipur residents and commuters, the project represents a promising step toward a more connected and hassle-free city. As construction progresses, the elevated road will become an integral link in Jaipur’s road network, ensuring smoother journeys and a brighter future. Source Rajasthan Patrika
