Banswara News: Illegal Fireworks Factory Blaze Injures 14, Two Critical

Banswara News: Massive fire breaks out at illegal firecracker factory in Banswara 14 people including children suffered burns as a huge fire broke out at an illegal firecrackers factory in RIICO area of Banswara district this evening. Even as fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot, the fire caused an explosion forcing them to retreat.

District Collector Dr Indrajit Yadav and SP Harshvardhan Agarwala visited the spot. Collector said 14 people have been injured of which two have been sent to Udaipur for treatment and rest are being treated at Banswara’s MG Hospital.

Reports said that fear spread in the locality when there was an explosion at the firecracker factory. The police from Kotwali police station and the fire brigade reached the spot after receiving information. When the fire was doused, another explosion occurred as the walls were broken to douse the flames. Several people who had come to help were injured in the explosion.

Injured Transported on Bikes Due to Unavailability of Ambulances

108 ambulances were not available at the scene, so the injured were taken to the district hospital on private vehicles and motorbikes. By 4 PM, the fire was completely out, after 9 fire brigades put out the flames after 2 hours of work.

Illegal Fireworks Factory Operating in RIICO Area

It has been learnt that this plot was initially allotted to businessman Ashok Agrawal by RIICO, but it was leased out without informing to fireworks trader Sonu Sindhi, where fireworks were stored and illegally manufactured. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the fire. Source Rajasthan Patrika
