Rajasthan Budget 2025: ₹900 Crore Allocated to Develop 16 Cities as Clean & Green Eco Cities

Rajasthan FM boosts urban development in 2025-26 budget: 16 cities to be made Clean and Green Eco Cities 900 crore set aside for 16 cities to be developed as Clean and Green Eco Cities by Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari in the state budget for 2025-26 has been allocated from the urban development fund.

2025-26 budget shows Rajasthan’s commitment to green and sustainable future Through Smart Cities, clean energy, conservation of natural resources, the State is setting an example for others to follow. This budget is not just about allocation of funds but a vision for a cleaner, greener and more prosperous Rajasthan.
The cities selected under the Smart City Scheme of the central government are Bundi, Nathdwara, Khatu Shyam Ji, Mount Abu, Bhilwara, Balotra, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Mandawa, Kishangarh, Bhiwadi and Pushkar. In the next three years, these cities would be transformed.

Rajasthan Budget 2025 – Focus on Green Budget Concept

The government has introduced a Green Budget Concept, which includes:

  • Establishment of a ₹100 crore Green Challenge Fund.
  • Launch of the Rajasthan Green Credit Scheme, similar to the carbon credit model.
  • A dedicated ₹250 crore Green Aravalli Scheme to conserve the Aravalli mountain range through afforestation, check dams, and other initiatives.
  • A total provision of ₹27,854 crore under the Green Budget framework to ensure sustainable development in various departments.

Solar Energy for Government Offices

All government offices in Rajasthan will be integrated with solar energy. Additionally, PHED pumping stations will be upgraded to a hybrid solar energy model.

Green Initiatives in Urban and Rural Areas

  • ₹43 crore will be spent on planning and initiatives for developing green lungs in urban areas.
  • To promote a plastic-free environment, steel utensil banks will be introduced in 1,000 gram panchayats across the state in the first phase. Each panchayat will receive ₹1 lakh for setting up these banks.

This budget reflects Rajasthan’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation while promoting urban transformation.
