ABVP Protests at JNVU: Questions Confidentiality, Slams Lack of Sports Facilities

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad organized a demonstration today outside the chief office of Jai Narain Vyas University in Jodhpur. After the rally, the students sent a 15-point memo to the university management. The protesting students also leveled a number of serious allegations against the confidential department of the university.

Allegations Against University Administration

The MPET procedure run by Jai Narain Vyas University has disregarded all regulations, according to the president of ABVP unit, Dilip Rajpurohit. The irregularities in the admissions process are condemned, against the university rules. He insisted the matter needed to be investigated and research guides should be redesigned in terms of qualification of the research experts. He also emphasized that there are no basic amenities, such as drinking water devices and toilets, available at the sports ground of the university. These issues still have not been addressed by the university administration despite routine demands.

Confidential Department’s Secrecy Under Suspicion

Rajpurohit demanded an audit and alleged the confidential department of the university to be corrupt. According to him, there were cases of tampering with mark sheets, raising doubts about the confidentiality of the department in question. He demanded stern punishment toward those concerned and urgent action to plug such instances of abuse. The shifting of working assistants from the confidential department was also among their demands during the protest by the ABVP militants.

All university departments have set exam centers in classrooms; however, many of the ones in use have non-functioning fans and do not get cleaned in time. Furthermore, they do not have any arrangement to provide drinking water to the students. Other requests in the letter included offering a canteen facility at the campus, placing security personnel in Constitution Park on a daily basis, repairing university hostels, and addressing other issues.
