Within the ambit of the ambitious Central Government scheme for saturation, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has installed and commissioned 90 units of indigenous equipment, namely 4G BTS (Base Transceiver Stations), in the Banswara and Dungarpur districts. Of these, 34 rural BTS sites will provide 4G network coverage to deserving villages spread over eight blocks in both districts, while the urban areas are witnessing an upgrade in coverage. As informed by Sumit Doshi, Deputy General Manager of the Corporation, successful testing of these BTS was conducted over the last two months.

For villages like Umrinal, Talabpada, Sithliya, Rohaniya, Khera, Kheran Ka Parada, Chopasag, Hatholia Pada, and Sakriya in the Ambapura block of Banswara, Nathalapada, Ghatian, Ruparel, Lamba Patiya in the Ghatol block, and Suliya Malpura, Gangartalai in the Kushalgarh block, BSNL’s 4G service will be provided through these 34 indigenous BTS installed in rural areas. The Dungarpur district will now have the same 4G service available to the villages of Jaelana, Modar, Asiyabav in the Bichhiwada block; Darahatai, Devli, Goiya, Balwaniya in the Dungarpur block; Uplarasta, Mandlitara in the Simlwara block; and Salmgarh, Makdinichali in the Sabla block.
56 New BTS Installed, Coverage Updated
As per Mr. Ankitkumar Jayswal, Manager Sales and Marketing of the company, on the other hand, in the two districts 56 new BTS have been erected in the district headquarters, tehsil headquarters, and block headquarters which are meant to update off coverage in towns and urban areas. Fully indigenously made, these 4G BTS at 700 to 900 MHz will guarantee a larger signal reach.
Free SIM Upgrade Available
Making the low-priced SIM available for 4G via its distributors in operation around the rural hinterland reaches out towards the erstwhile neglected areas. Existing customers are also entitled to a free upgrade for any old SIM from any BSNL center or retail outlet.
