NFSU to Open in Jaipur Instead of Jodhpur: Report Sent to MHA

National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) has decided to set up its off-campus in Jaipur instead of Jodhpur. A team of NFSU visited both cities and submitted a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs which put Jaipur on the top priority. The NFSU main campus is in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Ministry of Home Affairs plans to set up new NFSU campuses in nine states including Rajasthan.

Why NFSU to Open in Jaipur

Jodhpur was one of the two contenders for the NFSU campus, with Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat even advocating it, but Jaipur was preferred as it has better international facilities, he said. However, a sub-campus may be set up in Jodhpur.

Why Jodhpur Didn’t Get the Campus

2021-2022: Union Home Minister Amit Shah writes to Rajasthan govt. for setting up of NFSU campus Thereafter, visits are made to Police University Jodhpur and 15 acres of land is requested but state govt. doesn’t provide land free. NFSU doesn’t reply further.

Benefits of the Jaipur NFSU Campus

  1. Collaboration with AIIMS for forensic medicine and other research.
  2. Working with IIT and Fintech in the fields of cyber forensics and cybersecurity.
  3. Research in forensic law with LLU and the Judicial Academy.
  4. High-level police and security training with BSF, CRPF, ITBP, and RPCT.
  5. Defense research opportunities with DRDO.
Selected for Its International Facilities

Jaipur was selected primarily for its better international facilities. If the state government agrees, a sub-campus could still be opened in Jodhpur. The report has been submitted to both the central Home Ministry and the state government. News Source Rajasthan Patrika
