Pali News: An ‘Oxygen Zone’ is going to be developed on the total land area of 30 bighas in the Pali district of Rajasthan. This project will be taken from the district, with a helping hand from the Mohanlal Sayarchand Kawad Charitable Trust, nearer to the Rokadiya Hanuman Temple, Giradra village. This area, about 8-9 km from the city, should be able to grab a dense forest in the coming three years through this initiative called “Oxygen Zone.”

In the first phase, it is going to have around 100,000 plants of 100 species planted at an interval of 2 feet each on the 30 bigha plot. Administration says that within three years, this land will become thick forest, and temperature in surrounding areas could be reduced by 10 degree centigrade, thus making oxygen available at rich amounts.

Under the approval of district administration, the Forest Creators NGO will undertake the project on the common grazing land. A total project cost would go up to around 4 crores rupees for this project. On February 2, the project will be inaugurated by the Governor of Sikkim, Om Mathur.

For watering purposes, a 2.26 lakh liter tank has been constructed. Sprinkler method will be used for irrigation as a source of protecting soil moisture. Special types of horse grass will also be laid to preserve moisture around the roots. This tank will also provide brine water.

To avoid the saplings from strong winds, the saplings will be tied with bamboo, and a drainage system has been installed to avoid waterlogging in heavy rains, which will also help channel rainwater into the storage tank.

District Collector Statement of LN Mantri:
