RPSC RAS-2024 Recruitment Now for 1096 Posts: RPSC Increases Vacancies by 363; Prelims Result Expected in 2-3 Days.

Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has announced 363 more vacancies in the RAS-2024 recruitment drive. With the total number of posts now standing at 1, 096, the announcement is a welcome development for aspirants. The 428 posts for state services and 668 posts for subordinate services will give more options to aspirants who aspire to make a career in public administration. This not only reflects the increasing need for professionals in Rajasthan’s administrative setup but also provides a much-needed impetus to the employment scenario in the state.

RPSC RAS-2024 Preliminary Exam: A Test of Knowledge and Logistics

3, 75, 657 candidates appeared out of 6, 75, 080 registered participants in RAS-2024 Prelims. The attendance percentage was 55. 65%. The exam was held in 87 cities in 38 districts. It shows the dedication of the candidates and the organisational skills of the RPSC. The attendance rates were as high as 68. 09% in Pratapgarh and as low as 51. 02% in Nagaur. This might be because of local awareness, accessibility, or difficulty level of the exam in some regions.

Candidates are waiting for the results that will be announced on 19 or 20 February 2024. This will decide who will go for the mains and what kind of preparation they will have to put in over the next few months. The main exam will be held on 17 and 18 June 2024, so candidates will have to gear up for the next round.

Exam Centers: Balancing Accessibility and Participation

The number of exam centres in Rajasthan was distributed in such a way that candidates from every corner of the state could take the exam conveniently. The major educational hubs of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota, as well as the smaller districts like Pratapgarh, were provided with exam centres so that candidates from different parts of the state could take the exam conveniently. However, there were no exam centres in places like Jalore, Phalodi and Salumber, which might have affected the participation of candidates from these areas.

The distribution shows the difficulty of conducting a large exam in a state as large as Rajasthan. It is good that 87 cities were covered but it also shows that greater infrastructure in the un-served areas would increase participation even more in future.

Lastly, the RAS-2024 recruitment drive is a step in the right direction for Rajasthan’s administrative services. More vacancies, a well-run prelims, and accessibility are all steps in the right direction for the RPSC and the state of Rajasthan’s future administrators. As candidates await their results, the road to the mains will be challenging but rewarding.
